I Never Thought I'd...

* I never thought I'd have so many names for poop or so many conversations about poop. I think that Jason and I have about 7 different names or ways to describe Connor's poop.
- Little Poopy
- Medium Size Poopy
- Big Poopy
- Monster Poopy
- Turd
- Turdlet
- Sharts

* I never thought I'd be OK with stepping over books, toys, sippy cups, etc. Being a person who hates clutter, I thought I would just pick up after my kids all the time. That got old quick. Now I barely notice all the toys and stuff until it is nap or bed time.

* I never thought I'd hear the theme song to Little Einsteins or Mickey Mouse Club House coming from my husband's car stereo. The great daddy Jason is downloaded the theme songs and burned them on a CD. We drove down our street, with the windows down mind you, blaring the Hot Dog song and eagerly looking at Connor to see if he was excited. He looked at us like we were nuts, and I think he is right!!

* I never thought I'd watch the same Baby Einstein video over and over and over again and not be totally sick of it.

* I never thought I'd enjoy curling up in a ball on the floor. When I curl up in a ball on the floor, Connor comes over and curls up in a ball right next to me. Then he lifts up my hair to see my face. When I start laughing, he snuggles up even closer and giggles. It is just the best ever!

* I never thought I'd be OK with temper tantrums. (OK, as long as they are not in public) I think I have actually learned to leave him alone, place a sippy cup and his bink near, and let him get over it on his own.

* I never thought I'd love a little 22 lb spit fire so much!!!

(This could be a new spin on the drinking game I Never, but with a Mommy twist and much better alcohol than in college!!!)

15 Month Stats

Connor had his 15 month well-baby check today. His stats are pretty even with last time.

Weight - 22 lbs. - 10th to 25th percentile
Height - 30 1/4 in. - 25th percentile
Head Size - 19 1/4 in. - 90th percentile

Connor is hitting all of his milestones, except for one. He can walk, climb, blow kisses, dance, drink from a cup, turn pages of a book, throw, and march. However, he is not a big talker. He says lots of stuff that sounds like words, but none of them match an item/person. He says ma-ma all the time, but he is not looking at me when he says it, same for da-da. We are hoping that before the next well-baby visit he starts using some words. He got a clean bill of health, so that in itself is such a wonderful blessing.

Another fun trip to Florida

We made our annual pilgrimage to Florida last week for my Spring Break. I should say that I went down last week. Jason, the brave soul that he is, drove down 19 hours by himself with Connor the week before. Both made is safe and sound without me, but I was very stressed until I knew they were down there OK. Below are some highlights from our trip.

Connor stayed in his first hotel with Daddy on the way down. On the way home Jason and I drove straight through, but I made him stop on the way down. Connor loved playing on the big bed. Connor was an awesome traveler. A huge thank you goes out to Chris and Rebecca for letting us borrow their DVD player.

Grandma and Grandpa Biery bought this little chair for Connor to sit in during Happy Hour. We have Happy Hour every evening at 4:00. The adults would have drinks and snacks, and Connor would provide the entertainment. He didn't really sit in his chair, but had a great time trying to push it around.

Connor and Mommy during Happy Hour!!

Also during Happy Hour, Connor pushed his cart all over the driveway. We blocked off the end with the golf cart and some chairs, so he could scoot about wherever he wanted. He liked to stop every once and a while and clap for himself.

Connor loved the baby pool. His favorite thing to do was to stand by the side and pound toys on the concrete. He discovered this truck when were there. He finally figured out how to roll it back and forth instead of sideways.

Connor loved this shovel. He went for this one and another green one. He learned how to walk in the water, and how to sit in the water when the water was warmer than the air. He went under the water a couple of times on accident, but didn't freak out. In the big pool, Daddy let him "jump" off the edge. He LOVED that! We couldn't even get Connor to take a bath in the big tub before this trip!!

As you can see from this picture, Connor was not a big fan of the beach. We even had water shoes for him to wear, but he was not having it.

Jason was able to capture a couple of good beach shots when Connor was in a better mood.

On one of the colder days we had, we went to the Manatee Education Center. Here is baby Connor as a manatee.

Big kisses from Grandpa!

We had such a nice, relaxing time. It was great to be away from everything and hang out in the sun. Our Florida vacation is a lot different than it used to be. No more waking up late, laying out for 5 hours, and drinking the night away. Even though we had to work around nap time, the rest of the time was filled with fun, sun, and laughter. An even BIGGER thank you to Grandma and Grandpa Biery for letting us stay with them. Connor had a lot of fun getting to spend some quality time with his great grandparents, and Mommy and Daddy had a lot of fun too!!
