Christmas 2009

What's Santa say? "Ho! Ho! Ho!," Connor shouts! Christmas 2009 was wonderful. Even though Connor still does not really get Christmas, we still had a lot of fun celebrating. He was not really into opening gifts. He would help us open one or two and then off to play with his new toys. For the holiday, we spent Christmas Eve at my brother's house with my side of the family. We ate a yummy turkey dinner and opened presents before my dad, sister, and Patty had to leave to go back up to Chicago. It was a quick visit, but it was still good to see everyone.
Yes, this looks really bad! Connor crawled into Gavin and Kelli's dog's cage and tried to shut the door. We just had to take a picture of it. Don't worry the door was not locked, and he crawled right out.

Is this big present for me? Of course it is!! Grandpa Mac got him some GeoTracks. He loves playing with his new Choo, Choo trains.

The one present I opened on Christmas Eve before I was off to play with my other new toys.

Gavin and Kelli got him this Sesame Street shopping cart. It was a big hit.

We woke up Christmas morning at our house. Jason set up the video camera in hopes of a big reaction from Connor. Needless to say he was not that impressed. In fact, we did get a big reaction when we came home from Lafayette on Saturday, and he saw all of his new toys again. Christmas morning we opened presents and ate cinnamon rolls before heading to Lafayette for Christmas lunch with Jason's family and to stay the night. I forgot the camera at home, so here are a few pictures from Christmas morning at our house.

"Book!" "Book!" Connor exclaimed as I pulled out this Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Coloring book. He loves his books and his Mickey Mouse!

Connor loves his new kitchen. He will open and shut all of the doors and bring me the plates and cups. Mommy and Daddy like it because it is not too big.

Christmas breakfast, cinnamon rolls. Yummy!!!

Look, Ma! I can fit in my cart! He can climb in all by himself. I told you it was a big hit!

Smith Party of 4

What does my shirt say?

That's right! Connor is going to be a big brother! We are due in June and couldn't be happier. Connor does great with the babies at day care, so hopefully that will last when his new brother or sister comes along. We are looking forward to this new addition to our family.

Breakfast with Santa

This Saturday we had our annual Breakfast with Santa at Grammy's work with Will, Jacoby, and Wyatt. Connor was still a little out of sorts from having the stomach flu earlier in the week, so he was very clingy. In fact I had to carry him around the whole time. We weren't to sure of Santa this year, so I had the privilege of sitting with him. I am looking forward to the day that Connor is excited about Santa and understands Christmas.

Connor, Mommy and Santa. I was happy to tell Santa that Connor wants some Choo, Choo Trains!

Santa gave Connor a sucker, and I think that sucker was the highlight of the morning for him.

Last year Connor touched Frosty's nose. This year we had problems even getting him to look at him!

ELMO!!! Connor was very happy to see him walking around this morning. (Notice who is holding him in all the pictures)

Laughing in the Leaves

What beautiful fall weather we had this weekend. I can't think of a better thing to do than to play in the leaves!
Picture Perfect!

This is too much fun!!

Halloween Fun!!

For Connor's first trick-or-treat experience, we dressed him up as a little dragon. I must say I was very proud of our little Puff. He kept his hat on the whole time, and he managed to make it to a couple of houses. He made me laugh every time I looked at him because when he walked his little tail wagged. We went trick-or-treating with our old neighbors in their new neighborhood, so Connor had his friends Jack and Thomas to trick-or-treat with. It was a great night. Connor even enjoyed passing out candy to the big kids once we got back to Chris and Rebecca's house. Good times were had by all!

Aren't I so stinking cute?

I can still play in my costume!

Back home with our tummy's full and the little ones ready for bed. No, we didn't plan the matching jammies.

Passed out after all that running, candy, and fun!

Conner Prairie 2009

We met our old neighbors at Conner Prairie this past Thursday for some outdoor fun. The weather was beautiful and the trees were gorgeous. My Connor on the other hand was not so perfect. He decided that he was not a big fan of the stroller, and that he didn't want to hold my hand or follow me. We did manage to have some fun though before heading home. A big thanks to Rebecca, Jack, and Thomas for letting us tag along!!

Playing with the Cho Chos!

Can I eat this apple Mom?

It's harvest time! Gotta pick the veggies!

"I want that!"

Connor is not a very verbal kid. Well, I guess he is verbal, but we can't understand a lot of what he says. We DO however understand when he says, "I want that!" It is his favorite sentence. I think he says it like 100 times a day at least. He wants the remote, the TV changed, a snack, his juice, his milk, anything and everything. At first it was cute, but now it is getting a little old. If we could just tack a "please" onto the end of that sentence, we would be good to go. Here are some other words or phrases that our little one loves to say...
* Mama go or Dada go
* More
* Where?
* Ball
* Brady
* Night Night
* apple
* juice
* Cho cho (for train)
* Mama
* Dada or just Da

Like I said not a lot of words, but what he lacks in vocabulary he makes up in facial expressions and in jesters. He likes to let us know what he wants, when he wants it. Ah, the joys of almost being 2.

Stonycreek Farm 2009

Today was our annual trip to Stonycreek Farm, and my what a difference a year makes. Last year we plopped Connor from photo op to photo op with little fuss. This year was a different story. Our little explorer loved to roam around the pumpkin patch and through the hay maze. (He only tripped over the vines 3 times in the patch.) He proved that he is becoming a big boy and climbed to the top of the hay pile and road the pumpkin train for the first time. Jason and I would have liked to stay all day, but 2 hours was enough for our little guy. We did manage to get our precious pumpkin and take some pictures of him too!

Chillin' by the wagon.

Mommy found one just my size.

Which one should I choose?

We got the best picture of him here last year. This year we were not so lucky. He wanted to stick his head all the way through and look around. Oh well, still cute.

My first ride on the pumpkin train. I was a big boy and rode by myself.

Connor kept looking down at the big step. He was not sure if he could step down, so he looked frozen.

Horsing Around on Jacoby's 5th Birthday

Saturday was my niece Jacoby's 5th birthday, and for a birthday surprise Julie and Jon had a horse at her birthday party. It was not a pony. No, we had to do one better. They had a Clydesdale at her birthday party! She was very surprised. We all had a lot of fun going on rides around the property. It was Connor's first time to ride a horse, and it was mine as well. I enjoyed it, but Connor whined the whole time he was on the horse with Daddy.

Look at me!

Hold on tight!

Connor enjoyed petting the horse with Grandpa Biery much more than riding him.

My first horse back ride! It was very bumpy, but still fun.

A Few of Our New Favorite Things!!!

Here is a sampling of a few of our new favorite things!

I love Daddy's old cell phone! I answer it whenever Mommy's phone rings.

Are you serious! No way man!!!

ROFL CU L8R

Daddy fed me a Popsicle for the first time on Saturday. I am not sure why I have not had a chance to eat this yummy goodness before. Daddy had to take my shirt off, so I would not get it all over.

Seriously good, but seriously messy!

I love my cups! In fact I scream and cry until Mommy takes them all out of the pantry. I like to line them up on the table and take turns drinking out of them. Too bad only one of them has something in it.

I love the lids the best. The Colts' blue one is my favorite!
